FASHION'S NIGHT OUT: for richer and poorer and everything in between

From the dancing Bergdorf windows, to the live 1960s cabaret looking models at Escada, and the 39 million dollar diamond on display in Harry Winston, and the exclusive party at Versace with celebrity Drake DJ’ing: Fashion’s night out on FIFTH AVENUE was the place to be. Thousands of people came out into the streets to enjoy this fabulous night of free-bees, prize giveaways, socializing, networking…..and a bit of shopping if they got a chance.

Everyone was out from the rich and famous to the poor and homeless. You had the fashionistas out who were decked in their newest dresses and 5 inch heels, looking for their next thousand dollar purchase, and you had the, not so fashionistas out who were trying to get their makeup done for free; and snag an expensive prize from Bergdorf Goodman’s prize- giveaway game with Kathy Griffin and TV personality Robert Verdi.

The gay guys were out to show off their neon colored shoes and lady gaga looking outfits. While the straight guys came out for a free beer at Diesel.
Then you had the homeless people who were hoping the rich shoppers would have compassion for them, the way they have compassion for the lonely fur coat they bought sitting on a rack at Gucci.

And then… there was Nicki Minaj guarded by 4 bodyguards and 3 policemen leaving YSL trying to get away from  her non stop fame while her psychotic fans attacked and chased her car in the street. While at the same time, there were the "15 minute of fame wanters" who wore the tacky Halloween like costumes, with one being topless thinking she was  in Saint Tropez on the beach. Talk about the vast variety of good-luck in the world!

At the end of the night when the clock struck 11 all the DJ’s stopped playing and stores stopped the shopping, so they could start counting how much money they made and how much they lost. Knowing they had a better chance at the latter. The streets looked as though it was New Years Eve, well technically it was: for FASHION of course. The 3rd year anniversary for FNO. FNO was the place to be and if you were not there, well you missed lots of free drinks, music, porn, agonizing feet, shoving, socializing, and many more exciting things like that………………
